A Little About Me
I'm a Birmingham, Alabama-based calligrapher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alabama and work as a digital community manager for trade publications by day. I have always loved creating. I have been known to upcycle furniture, take wedding and family photos and create invitations from time to time. I love having a creative outlet, and I have never been so passionate or dedicated to one as I have been with calligraphy. I'm so thankful for the opportunity do what I love and to share it with all of you.

Why Storied Script?
If you know me, you know that I am obsessed with all things scripted. I have a major tv problem. I love scripted television and even keep up with shows I don't watch. I also get extremely invested in characters and plot lines (please don't ask me about the HIMYM finale, I'm still not over it). But my love for stories does not stop there. I love to read, and I am a self-proclaimed theatre geek. If you check out my recent Spotify plays I can all but guarantee that Hamilton, Rent and Legally Blonde the Musical are at the top. It just made sense to me to combine a few of my favorite things and that became Storied Script.

The Backstory
In 2013, my best friend was planning her wedding, and I addressed all the envelopes for her wedding invitations. It was the first time I had ever tried pointed pen calligraphy, and while I didn't really know what I was doing, we made it work. After that, I didn't pick up a pen for a little over a year. In October of 2014, I decided that I needed to get serious and really practice every day. I started posting each night to Instagram, and I took a few online courses. I continued to fall more and more in love with the art. The next spring, I took a calligraphy class from the outrageously talented Holly Hollon, and it was such a rewarding experience. I highly recommend taking an in-person class if you are just starting out. I still take online classes to keep learning and expanding my skill set.
